National Council of Science and Technology Communication, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India’s National Award for Best Effort in Science Popularisation was awarded to Assam Science Society on 28th February 1990 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. On behalf of Assam Science Society Dr. B.K. Barua, General Secretary received the award from Sri Viswanath Pratap Singh, Prime Minister of India.
